In this course we will be exploring what it means to be an entrepreneur or intrapreneur and equipping you with the tools and skills that will help you achieve your goals. The focus is on the entire entrepreneurial journey from understanding the principles behind coming up with a business idea to ultimately running a business. The skills you will learn are transferable and will be beneficial to you regardless of the career path you decide to follow.
After completing the course, you will have the opportunity of graduating to become part of a community of Allan Gray Makers who use their skills to positively impact society. As an Allan Gray Maker, you will have lifelong membership to the wider Allan Gray Orbis Foundation community of Fellows and entrepreneurial networks.
The course is divided into 2 stages:
Stage 1: Activating the Entrepreneur or Intrapreneur in You
Stage 2: Business Acumen
To include a graphic outlining the timeline of the course: total weeks, hours per week and weekly tasks
Each module has a compulsory individual activity or team activity that you will need to complete.
You will receive a certificate once you’ve finished the course. You can then apply to be part of the next stage of the Allan Gray Makers programme if you would like to continue your entrepreneurial journey with us in our incubator..

The Allan Gray Makers programme is a five-stage entrepreneurship programme funded by the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Endowment which aims to equip South African youth who are pursuing or trained in a technical or vocational trade outside of university with entrepreneurial training and support. The aim of the programme is to make entrepreneurship a viable career option on completion of the programme.
Not at the moment. As the programme is running its pilot in 2020, we will only be working with selected partner organisations to introduce the programme. We are hoping to take any applications that have completed Stage 1 and 2 in future.
